New Relationship so Let's Cruise

IT all starts off with three simple yet intriguing words, "baby let's cruise"...  I mean what more could you ask for to set the mood? There's nothing fancy about those few lines, its just simplicity at its absolute best. 

You may be wondering what on earth I'm on about, well let me put you out of your misery, "baby let's cruise" comes from Crusing by D'Angelo (off his 1995 Brown Sugar Album)... This song is the perfect relationship starter, it holds so many promises, and so much to look forward to, not only are you cruising (which, in my opinion is starting a relationship), but you're doing it "away from here" where the world is as it should be for the two of you.

Where everything is as it should be, and at this moment, you're living in the now, and not in the "what if". Everything is clear which is supported by the artist's ability to sing a few words, or a line such as "Don't be confused baby, the way is clear... and if you want you got it for ever... this is not a one stand" in such a convincing manner... There's nothing glamorous about this Cruise, its just filled with the unknown, which can and only will be discovered on the smooth sailing trip, set for the two of you and no one else... Its a cruise and an adventure from reality, where nothing matters but the new found love, and the promises, desires and wishes are shared between the two of you.

"Baby tonight, belongs to us...everything's right... and inch by inch we get closer and closer, every little part of each other...ooooh baby, baby" what's not to like about that? IS that something not tempting enough to want to experience? Because in every intimate relationship you enter, you wanna get to know the person you'r with, every curve and crevice of their body, every dimple and perfect imperfection, every tear they've shed, you want to know everything this "pretty little package" comes with, everything of it, everything about it... because at the end of the day, you end up saying "what's there not to like?"

Everything about this song is perfect, and everything about it isn't perfect."We're gonna fly away, glad you're going my way, I love it when we're cruising together", everything about that is so inviting and tempting, but its just not enough because when you're apart the cruise just isn't the same without your partner, there's nothing special about it. Its all just a memory etched into the heart and brain. Because at the end of the day, nothing lasts forever... which is why "tonight belongs to us" and which is why "we're gonna fly, glad you're going my way".

Embrace tomorrow, but live for the moment... this is a song perfect for new relationships... everything about it is just so inviting and tempting...
